Morocco’s Strong Presence at the Paris International Agricultural Show 2026
Paris, France – For the thirteenth consecutive year, the Kingdom of Morocco actively participated in the 62nd edition of the Paris International Agricultural Show (SIA), held from February 21 to March 1, 2026. This significant event serves as a crucial platform for Morocco to promote its agricultural sectors and enhance the global reach of its local products.
The Moroccan pavilion was officially inaugurated on February 22, 2026, by Ahmed El Bouari, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests. He was joined by Samira Sitaïl, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in France. This participation, orchestrated by the Agricultural Development Agency under the Ministry’s guidance, aligns with the ambitious ‘Generation Green 2020-2030’ strategy. This strategy aims to boost agricultural incomes and structure high-value-added sectors.
“Morocco, Centuries of Flavors”: A Diverse Showcase
Under the theme “Morocco, Centuries of Flavors,” the Moroccan delegation comprised 30 producer groups, representing 46 cooperatives and over 740 small farmers, with 61% being rural women. Spanning an area of 300 m², the pavilion proudly displayed the rich diversity and superior quality of national agricultural products. Featured items included argan oil, Taliouine saffron, Majhoul dates, olive oil, carob, aromatic and medicinal plants, and various spices. These sectors are increasingly vital to Moroccan agricultural exports, particularly to European markets.
Beyond commercial promotion, Morocco’s participation aims to integrate Moroccan agricultural cooperatives further into international value chains. It also serves as a catalyst for territorial development, especially in rural areas where local products generate employment and diversify agricultural incomes.
Strengthening Franco-Moroccan Agricultural Cooperation
On the sidelines of the Show, Minister Ahmed El Bouari held a bilateral meeting with his French counterpart, Annie Genevard. Both officials underscored the robust agricultural cooperation between Morocco and France, which was further strengthened in 2024 by the signing of a framework agreement. This agreement covers key areas such as livestock farming, agricultural training, phytosanitary cooperation, and agricultural water management. This technical collaboration is considered a significant driver for skills transfer, innovation, and the sustainable development of agricultural systems.
With an annual attendance exceeding 600,000 visitors, the Paris International Agricultural Show offers a strategic showcase for Morocco. It enhances the international visibility of national agricultural products and supports the upgrading of Moroccan agricultural sectors, in line with the modernization and valorization objectives championed by the Generation Green strategy.
