Paris Food Scene Heats Up: Italian Institution Returns, Star Chef Opens Wine Bar, and “Tous au Restaurant” Kicks Off
Paris, France – The culinary landscape of the French capital is abuzz with exciting developments for gourmands. This week brings a mix of anticipated reopenings, new ventures from acclaimed chefs, and the return of a popular dining event.
The Grand Venise Set to Be Reborn in the 7th Arrondissement
At 74 Boulevard de la Tour-Maubourg, a new chapter is beginning within the walls of the former Pasco restaurant. Behind the ongoing renovations lies the imminent arrival of The Grand Venise, an Italian institution founded in 1920 by the Lani family. At the helm of this project is Alexandre Corrot, already the owner of Le Conti, considered the oldest Italian restaurant still operating in Paris. The objective is to revive this historic address, focusing on the spirit of great Italian houses, blending generous transalpine cuisine, timeless elegance, and a convivial atmosphere.
Éthanol, a New Wine Bar by Star Chef Maxime Bouttier, Opens Next Week
Initially announced for February, the opening of Éthanol will finally take place next week. This new establishment is spearheaded by Maxime Bouttier, the chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant Géosmine. Located at 28 Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, in the former premises of a shoemaker’s shop, Éthanol is conceived as a wine cellar extended by a convivial dining area where market-inspired cuisine accompanies over 400 wine references. The menu will feature tapas, charcuterie, aged cheeses, fine cuts of meat, and sharing dishes, all within a completely redesigned setting. This opening is particularly anticipated in this already vibrant district of the 11th arrondissement.
Le Carlie Changes Hands but Retains Its Festive DNA in the Marais
At 177 Rue Saint-Martin, in the Haut-Marais, Le Carlie continues its journey with a new team. Noa, Charly, and Flavien are taking over the reins of the establishment with the desire to preserve what has made it successful: a cocktail bar where evenings extend with musical programming, a cozy ambiance, and a well-crafted drinks menu.

Good news for lovers of gastronomic tables: reservations for the 2026 edition of “Tous au Restaurant” opened on May 26th. The event will run from June 1st to June 14th with its iconic formula: “Your guest is our guest,” meaning one menu offered for every menu purchased.
