Eiffel Tower Fireworks and Drone Show on July 13th, 2026: A Dazzling Spectacle in Paris

Paris, July 13th, 2026 – The traditional Bastille Day fireworks display at the Eiffel Tower, originally scheduled for July 14th, will take place tonight, July 13th, 2026. The event will feature an impressive pyrotechnic show alongside a display of 1600 luminous drones, following the grand Concert de Paris at the Champ-de-Mars. This free event has seen its schedule adjusted due to high temperatures, with reinforced security and emergency services in place.

Event Details and Schedule Adjustments

The fireworks display will be launched from the Eiffel Tower in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, over the Champ-de-Mars lawn. The City of Paris has announced a program including twelve pyrotechnic tableaux and 1600 illuminated drones. The grand Concert de Paris will open the evening’s festivities. Despite initial concerns regarding the heatwave, authorities have confirmed the event will proceed with revised timings to minimize public exposure to the heat.

The site opening has been postponed to 8:00 PM (instead of 4:00 PM), with the Concert de Paris commencing at 9:45 PM (instead of 9:00 PM). The fireworks display remains scheduled for 11:00 PM. The Police Prefecture has also issued a ban on alcohol consumption in public areas within the sector, and the city’s emergency services have been doubled, complemented by reinforced state provisions.

Why July 13th Instead of July 14th?

The event has been exceptionally brought forward by one day. Paris and Nice announced in late May that the festivities would be shifted to allow for a day of remembrance on the tenth anniversary of the Nice attack, which occurred on July 14th, 2016. This tragic event on the Promenade des Anglais resulted in 86 deaths, including 15 minors, and 458 injuries.

The military parade on the Champs-Élysées, however, will still take place on the morning of Tuesday, July 14th, 2026. It is worth noting that the Eiffel Tower is closed to the public today, July 13th, to facilitate preparations for the show.

Concert de Paris and Drone Spectacle Program

The evening’s entertainment will be hosted by Stéphane Bern and broadcast live on France 2 and France Inter starting at 9:45 PM, in simultaneous transmission by the EBU-Eurovision. At the foot of the Iron Lady, the Orchestre National de France, the Choir, and the Maîtrise de Radio France will perform under the direction of Daniel Harding, joined by soloists such as Gautier Capuçon, Marina Viotti, Jakub Józef Orliński, and Corinne Winters. The Concert de Paris will conclude with a rendition of the Marseillaise, just before the first rockets are launched.

The pyrotechnic show will be structured into 12 tableaux. Among the sequences announced by the city are:

  • A sequence celebrating the 70th anniversary of the twinning between Paris and Rome and the historical ties uniting the two capitals.
  • A tribute to the 400th anniversary of the French Navy.
  • An evocation of the Seine, a recurring theme in many previous editions.

The technical scale of the event is impressive: 1600 ultra-light drones (up from 1000 last year), equipped with LEDs and 360° diffusers, will envelop the Eiffel Tower. Additionally, 120 firing positions, over 80 of which are installed on the tower itself, 50 automated projectors within the structure, and around a hundred technicians and artists are mobilized for the event. The sky above the 7th arrondissement promises to be a busy and spectacular sight.

Where to Watch the July 13th Fireworks in Paris

Access to the Champ-de-Mars and the Trocadéro esplanade remains entirely free, offering the most spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower. Given the delayed opening at 8:00 PM, it is advisable to bring water, a hat, and some patience, as the gates will close once capacity is reached. The areas around the Bir-Hakeim bridge and the Seine quays offer good alternative viewing spots, with a less strenuous exit than the crowds at Champ-de-Mars.

For those preparing for the evening, several guides are available: the best spots to watch the fireworks, terraces, rooftops, and restaurants with a view, as well as a comprehensive guide to the July 13th and 14th, 2026 fireworks in Paris and Île-de-France. Regarding transportation, remember to check for closed metro stations and traffic and parking restrictions in effect on July 13th, 2026. If the heat proves too much, the show can also be enjoyed from the comfort of your sofa, broadcast live on television.

A Campaign to Promote Republican Values

In conjunction with the July 13th program, the City of Paris launched an advertising campaign earlier this month to promote the Republican motto: Liberty, Equality, Fraternity. Three posters are displayed on 1500 sites across the capital. Deputy Mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Grégoire, explained that as Bastille Day approached, he wanted to bring “our motto and our republican history” to life throughout the capital, recalling Paris’s special connection to the storming of the Bastille and the birth of the Republic. Parisians who wish to do so can collect one of these posters for free.
