Artificial Intelligence: A New Mapping of Solutions for Fashion

Paris, January 20, 2026 – The Défi, the professional committee for the economic development of the fashion industry, has released an updated mapping of AI solutions tailored for the sector. Initially launched in late 2024, this revised guide, published at the beginning of the year, underscores the increasing prominence and integration of artificial intelligence within the fashion ecosystem.

Over 150 Solutions Highlighted

The updated mapping now references more than 150 distinct AI solutions. Notably, 39 new solutions have been introduced, offering immediate practical applications for the industry while also anticipating future developments. Among the new additions are the collaborative workspace Notion, the graphic design tool Canva, and AI-powered browsers such as Atlas and Comet. These inclusions reflect a broader embrace of AI tools that enhance various operational aspects of the fashion business.

Categorization of AI Tools

The AI tools serving the fashion industry are systematically classified into distinct categories within this mapping. These devices operate across several key areas: creation and design, customer experience and service, management and administration, marketing and communication, and production and logistics. This comprehensive categorization allows industry professionals to identify and implement AI solutions tailored to their specific needs, from initial concept to final delivery.

Reasons for Solution Removal

Only eleven devices were removed from the list during this update. The Défi justified these removals based on issues such as obsolescence, functional redundancies, lack of updates, or insufficient scalability of the devices. This selective curation ensures that the mapping remains a relevant and reliable resource for the fashion industry, focusing on cutting-edge and effective solutions.

The Role of The Défi in Industry Development

As a professional committee for economic development (CPDE) funded by the fashion and luxury sectors through a dedicated tax, The Défi is tasked with supporting the industry’s growth. Since the platform’s launch in 1984, approximately 3,500 companies have benefited from its guidance and support. The organization plays a crucial role in fostering innovation and sustainability within the French fashion landscape.

Commitment to Sustainability

The Défi recently collaborated with five textile and apparel federations to establish a roadmap aimed at combating the use of plastic packaging in the clothing industry and distribution. This initiative highlights the organization’s commitment to promoting environmentally responsible practices and driving sustainable change across the sector. By addressing critical issues such as plastic waste, The Défi continues to champion a more sustainable future for fashion.
