Aircalin Flight from Paris to New Caledonia Delayed Due to Technical Anomaly

Paris, February 10 – An Aircalin flight bound for New Caledonia from Paris’s Roissy Airport experienced a significant delay yesterday, February 9, 2026, after a technical anomaly was discovered. The airline announced today that the flight has been rescheduled, with passengers now expected to arrive in Nouméa on February 12.

Technical Anomaly Identified on Cockpit Windshield

The A330neo aircraft, which was preparing for its journey to Nouméa via Bangkok, was grounded following the detection of a technical issue. According to Aircalin, the anomaly was located on a cockpit windshield element. This led to the decision to immobilize the aircraft for necessary checks and repairs, a measure taken as a precaution and in accordance with current safety procedures.

“As a precautionary measure, and in accordance with current safety procedures, it was decided to immobilize the aircraft to carry out the necessary checks and repairs,” stated the airline in a press release issued on Tuesday morning. The repairs were reportedly completed “as quickly as possible.”

Flight Reprogrammed with One-Day Delay

The initial flight, QV135, was scheduled to depart from Paris on February 9. However, due to the unforeseen technical issue, it was postponed. Aircalin confirmed the new schedule for the reprogrammed flight:

  • Departure from Paris: February 10 at 8:45 PM
  • Arrival in Bangkok: February 11 at 2:20 PM
  • Departure from Bangkok: February 11 at 4:25 PM
  • Arrival in Nouméa: February 12 at 6:30 AM

This rescheduling means passengers will experience a one-day delay compared to the original itinerary. The aircraft was initially expected to land in Tontouta on Wednesday.

Passenger Care and No Further Impact on Flights

Air Calédonie International assured that all affected passengers have been taken care of. The airline also stated that no other flights are impacted by this reprogramming, indicating that the issue was isolated to this particular aircraft and its scheduled journey.

This incident highlights the stringent safety protocols in place within the airline industry, where technical anomalies, even minor ones, can lead to significant delays to ensure the safety of all onboard. While inconvenient for travelers, such measures are crucial for maintaining the high safety standards expected in air travel.
