Gamay Days Festival Set to Transform Lyon’s Confluence District

Lyon, April 7, 2026 – The vibrant Confluence district in Lyon is preparing to host a brand new event, the Gamay Days Festival, on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, 2026. This inaugural festival, taking over the Heat and H7 venues, promises a celebration of the Gamay grape, bringing together winemakers from Beaujolais, Lyonnais, Auvergne, and Savoie.

The centerpiece of the festival will be an impressive 40-meter-long wine bar, transformed into an “XXL wine garden.” Attendees will have the unique opportunity to explore, taste, and compare over 100 different Gamay vintages. “Become a serial tester for a weekend: explore, taste, and compare more than 100 Gamay vintages from Beaujolais and neighboring regions. Whether fresh, fruity, and light, or deep and full-bodied, Gamay has become the star grape of recent seasons! Whether you are a novice or a confirmed amateur, more than 50 winemakers will be behind the counter to guide you,” stated the organizers.

In addition to the extensive wine offerings, the festival will feature a cocktail bar and a white Beaujolais bar, catering to a variety of tastes. This focus on the “star grape” aims to highlight its versatility and growing popularity among wine enthusiasts.

A Culinary Journey Through Beaujolais Flavors

Complementing the wine experience, a 100% Beaujolais bistro-style food court will be set up, offering a diverse array of culinary delights. Each day will feature different chefs from renowned establishments, including Belle Lurette, Le Petit Bouclard, La Table Vermorel, La Mère Jean, Le Bistrot de la Cave, Beurre Noisette, and Le Sully.

The food court promises a wide selection to satisfy all palates, from traditional Lyonnaise bouchon cuisine and market-fresh dishes to bistronomic plates and vegetarian options. Both savory and sweet treats will be available, ensuring a comprehensive gastronomic experience.

Entertainment and Family-Friendly Activities

Beyond the wine and food, the Gamay Days Festival is set to offer a rich program of animations. Attendees can look forward to engaging talks and workshops, lively DJ sets, and various games designed for children. While entry to the festival will be free, all food and beverage consumptions will be chargeable.

This new event aims to establish itself as a significant cultural and gastronomic highlight in Lyon’s annual calendar, attracting both local residents and visitors from further afield. The combination of a picturesque setting, diverse wine selection, gourmet food, and entertainment makes it a promising addition to the city’s vibrant festival scene.

The Heat and H7 venues, known for hosting numerous events throughout the year, provide an ideal backdrop for this inaugural celebration of the Gamay grape. The festival is expected to draw a considerable crowd, eager to discover and enjoy the rich offerings of the Beaujolais region and beyond.
