Lyon’s GL events Venues Confirm Strong Dynamics in 2025 with 2.5 Million Visitors

Lyon, France – The venues managed by GL events in Lyon, including Eurexpo Lyon, the Lyon Congress Center, La Sucrière, and the Matmut Stadium, demonstrated sustained growth in 2025. With nearly 500 events and 2.5 million visitors welcomed throughout the year, Lyon has solidified its reputation as a major European destination for business and event tourism.

The year 2025 was marked by a series of successful professional and public trade shows, such as SIRHA Lyon, Global Industrie, Pollutec, Solutrans, Logipharma, Patrimonia, the Lyon Motor Show, Longines Equita Lyon, and Epoq’Auto, all of which underscored the city’s appeal. Additionally, numerous national and international congresses, including the National Congress of Pharmacists, the European Congress of Orthopedics and Traumatology, and the French-speaking Nutrition Days, chose Lyon as their host city.

Culturally, Lyon hosted the immersive Titanic exhibition, an immersive journey, and witnessed record activity at Amphithéâtre 3000, with 57 show dates.

Investments and Innovations Fuel Attractiveness

To sustain this growth, GL events has continued its policy of strategic investments and innovations. Eurexpo Lyon is undergoing an extension with the future Hall 4.3, spanning 7,000 square meters, scheduled for completion in October 2026. This new infrastructure will expand the total surface area to nearly 150,000 square meters, designed to accommodate the most ambitious trade shows with optimal fluidity and comfort.

The Lyon Congress Center stands out with its cutting-edge audiovisual equipment, including 35 digital screens, and advanced videoconferencing and streaming solutions. The establishment of a Convention Hub at Eurexpo Lyon now allows for the accommodation of up to 10,000 participants. Meanwhile, La Sucrière is developing immersive formats, and the Matmut Stadium is enhancing its versatility to host professional and cultural events on a retractable pitch.

Strong Commitment to Social and Environmental Responsibility

GL events is also reinforcing its social and environmental responsibility initiatives. The group operates the largest photovoltaic park in the Lyon metropolitan area and ensures rigorous waste sorting at the Congress Center. All four sites have renewed their ISO 20121 certification, guaranteeing events with a positive impact. On the social front, patronage with the Lyon-La Duchère club, the redistribution of food surpluses (12,000 meals in 2024), and the attainment of the Great Place To Work France 2025 label for Eurexpo and the Congress Center demonstrate a strong commitment to employees and the local community.

Favorable Outlook for 2026 and Beyond

The calendar for 2026 is already robust, with 270 events confirmed. These include recurring events such as Eurobois, Piscine Global, Patrimonia, SIDO, Salon du 2 Roues, Longines Equita Lyon, and Epoq’Auto, as well as new events like Creapure HYROX Lyon and the Positiv Lyon concerts featuring DJ Snake. Lyon’s expertise is also extending internationally with European Rotors in December 2026 and BIO-Europe Spring in 2027. Events focusing on health, science, and renewable energies continue to strengthen the city’s attractiveness and diversification.
