Hermès Expands Presence in Eure with New Leather Goods Workshop in Les Andelys
Les Andelys, Eure, January 30, 2026 – The renowned French luxury group Hermès announced today the establishment of a new leather goods workshop in Les Andelys, located in the Eure department. This strategic move is expected to create 260 artisan jobs, further bolstering the region’s economy and reinforcing Hermès’ commitment to local production.
This latest investment follows Hermès’ previous successes in the Eure region, where the company already operates two leather goods workshops: one in Val-de-Reuil, inaugurated in 2017, and another in Louviers, which opened in 2020. Additionally, Hermès maintains a perfumery site in Le Vaudreuil, underscoring its significant footprint in the area.
A Continued Investment in French Craftsmanship
In a press release, Hermès stated, “To support the success of its leather goods and saddlery collections, exclusively manufactured in France, Hermès continues to invest in its production capacities and pursue its development based on an integrated artisanal model.” This statement highlights the brand’s dedication to preserving and promoting traditional French craftsmanship, a cornerstone of its global reputation.
The new workshop in Les Andelys will be established on a former industrial site. This initiative has been developed in close collaboration with key regional stakeholders, including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Normandy, the Seine Normandie Agglomération community, and the municipality of Les Andelys.
Recruitment and Training Opportunities
Hermès plans to recruit its new artisans through partnerships with France Travail (the French public employment service) and the rectorate of the Academy of Normandy. These new employees will undergo an intensive 18-month training program at the Hermès School of Know-How in Louviers. This program is both certified and remunerated, offering a unique opportunity for individuals from diverse backgrounds to become highly skilled artisans.

This project in Les Andelys is part of a broader expansion strategy for Hermès, complementing ongoing developments at other sites in Loupes (Gironde), Charleville-Mézières (Ardennes), and Colombelles (Calvados). Recruitment and training initiatives are also actively underway at these locations, all supported by the Hermès School of Know-How.
The establishment of this new workshop in Les Andelys is a testament to Hermès’ sustained growth and its unwavering commitment to the “Made in France” ethos, ensuring the highest quality and artisanal excellence for its luxury products.
