Lyon, August 19, 2026 – The Hot Club of Lyon, a venerable institution in the European jazz scene, has announced its highly anticipated fall program, with doors set to reopen on September 9th. Located on Rue Lanterne in the 1st arrondissement, the club will host a series of performances and themed events until December 31st. Ticket sales for the new season commenced on Tuesday, August 18th.
A Blend of Tradition and Innovation for the New Season
Ludwig Laisné, president of the Hot Club of Lyon, encapsulated the essence of the upcoming season by stating, “Reinventing ourselves while remaining faithful to our roots.” This philosophy will guide the programming of the oldest continuously operating jazz club in Europe.
The season officially kicks off on September 9th. A highlight is scheduled for September 25th, featuring the quartet of Baptiste Herbin and Fred Nardin, joined by Darryl Hall and Leon Parker. The following day, Christophe Dal Sasso and Shekinah Rodz will present an original creation that blends jazz with world music influences.
Themed Evenings and Special Anniversaries
The Hot Club will also introduce several thematic events, including monthly “Tribute to” evenings. A dedicated week for the vibraphone is planned for December 10th and 11th, promising unique musical explorations.
In recognition of jazz legends, the club intends to commemorate the anniversaries of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Simultaneously, the Hot Club remains committed to its role as a platform for emerging musicians, fostering new talent within the jazz community.
“Our autumn program embodies this beautiful tension between memory and the future,” explained Ludwig Laisné, highlighting the club’s dual focus on honoring its rich heritage and embracing contemporary sounds. He further elaborated that the program will combine “the avant-garde of Leon Parker, the rich tradition of Big Bands,” and various events dedicated to the history of jazz.
