Man Discovered with Critical Stab Wounds in Lyon

Lyon, January 28, 2026 – A man was discovered with severe stab wounds on Tuesday evening, January 27, 2026, in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon. The victim was found in a life-threatening condition and was immediately transported to Édouard-Herriot Hospital. Police have launched an investigation into the attempted homicide.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred around 10:00 PM on Tuesday. An eyewitness discovered the bleeding man lying on the ground at 67 Rue de Marseille, an area situated between the Guillotière and Jean-Macé districts. According to a source close to the investigation, the victim sustained two stab wounds to the kidney and left hip.

Emergency services, including Samu 69, quickly arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance before transporting the injured man to the hospital. His prognosis remains critical.

Police Investigation Underway

Law enforcement officials were also dispatched to the scene to search for the perpetrator or perpetrators. However, no witnesses to the actual stabbing have been identified so far. An immediate investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack and to apprehend those responsible.
