In celebration of the Tour de France, Zwift has launched a significant update to its virtual Paris map, now featuring the iconic Montmartre Hill climb. This expansion nearly doubles the size of the existing Parisian map, reflecting the extended arrival route of the Tour de France and offering new challenges for virtual cyclists.

Montmartre KOM and Expanded Paris Routes

The original Zwift Paris map, created for the Virtual Tour de France 2020, replicated the famous final route of the men’s Tour de France, culminating on the Champs-Élysées. The new update integrates the legendary cobbled climb leading to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Montmartre, alongside three new sprint segments. Upon launch, Zwifters can explore 10 new routes: 8 for cycling and 2 for running.

“The streets of the capital will no longer hold any secrets for you!” states a Zwift representative. The full list of new cycling circuits includes:

  • Crêpe Escape – 16.4 km // 113 m elevation gain: This route features a lap of the iconic Champs-Élysées circuit, followed by the formidable Montmartre climb, all in a single loop.
  • La Boucle – 16.0 km // 118 m elevation gain: A unique loop that ascends the Montmartre climb once, then descends towards the emblematic Champs-Élysées for a high-speed finish.
  • Paris Toujours – 69.2 km // 448 m elevation gain: This route includes three laps of the Champs-Élysées circuit, followed by three more loops combining the Champs-Élysées and the Montmartre KOM via the Église Sprint.
  • Heart of Montmartre – 74.5 km // 500 m elevation gain: This route links three laps of the Champs-Élysées, then three more loops blending the Champs-Élysées and the Montmartre KOM via the Monceau Sprint.
  • Double Espresso – 30.5 km // 222 m elevation gain: Two “doses” of the Champs-Élysées, accompanied by two ascents of the Montmartre KOM.
  • Montmartre Mixer – 25.2 km // 190 m elevation gain: A dose of Montmartre, a touch of the Champs-Élysées: this route uses all available Paris roads on Zwift.
  • Loop de loop de loop – 7.2 km // 36 m elevation gain: One lap, two laps, three laps… déjà-vu! A rhythmic Parisian loop, ideal for fast riding.
  • Cirque du Suffer – 20.9 km // 29 m elevation gain: Around and around again! Fifty laps around the Arc de Triomphe, with a sprint to conclude.

Tour Fever Event: A Virtual Tour de France Experience

The “Tour Fever” event, running from Monday, July 6th, to Sunday, August 16th, offers a new experience across five stages inspired by the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes with Zwift. These stages will lead Zwifters through five of the new Paris routes, culminating in the challenge of the Montmartre ascent and the opportunity to unlock exclusive rewards.

Each of the five stages is available in a short and a long version, remaining active for 7 days. A catch-up week will be provided for users to complete any remaining stages on demand.

Tour Fever Stage Program:

  • Stage 1: Loop de loop de loop / Montmartre Mixer
  • Stage 2: Casse-Pattes / Road to Sky
  • Stage 3: Crêpe Escape / Three Musketeers
  • Stage 4: Hell of the North / Ven-Top
  • Stage 5: La Boucle / Double Espresso

This initiative by Zwift aims to combine training with the personal challenge of completing the five Tour Fever stages, bringing the excitement of the Tour de France to virtual cyclists worldwide.
