Paris, March 15 – The Moroccan Consulate General in Paris held an ‘open day’ on Saturday, March 14, 2026, for members of the Moroccan community. This was the second such event during Ramadan and the third since the beginning of the year, aimed at enhancing reception and the quality of consular services, allowing users to complete administrative procedures more easily.
Consulate General Implements Monthly Open Days
In line with these efforts, the Consulate General has established a new rhythm for these operations, which will now be organized once a month, typically on the last Saturday of each month, as stated by Habiba Zemmouri, Consul General of Morocco in Paris, to MAP.
These days are part of the High Royal Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which aim to promote support for Moroccans in their administrative procedures. They are initiated to facilitate access to various consular services and respond to the requests of members of the Moroccan community, she added.
Direct Interaction and Legal Advice Provided
“This proximity operation, intended for our citizens who cannot travel during working hours, not only offers them consular services but also fosters direct interaction with the consulate’s services, notably through legal advice and assistance with electronic appointment booking,” Zemmouri further explained.
The initiative underscores the consulate’s commitment to facilitating access to administrative services for its community members, ensuring they can complete necessary procedures efficiently and conveniently. The monthly schedule aims to provide consistent support and address the needs of those who face difficulties attending during regular business hours.
Broader Context of Community Support
This ‘open day’ is part of a larger strategy by the Moroccan government to support its diaspora abroad, ensuring that they have access to essential services and feel connected to their home country. Such events are crucial for maintaining strong ties between Moroccan expatriates and their national administration.
The Consulate General continues to explore various avenues to improve service delivery and strengthen its relationship with the Moroccan community in Paris, reflecting a proactive approach to consular diplomacy and community engagement.
Future ‘open days’ are expected to continue offering a range of services, from passport renewals and civil status declarations to legal consultations and guidance on administrative processes. This ongoing effort highlights the importance placed on the well-being and administrative convenience of Moroccan citizens residing abroad.
The success of these initiatives is measured not only by the number of services rendered but also by the positive feedback from community members who appreciate the flexibility and accessibility provided by the consulate.
