Public Transport Disruptions in Paris and Île-de-France: December 15-21, 2025
This week, from Monday, December 15 to Sunday, December 21, 2025, commuters in Paris and Île-de-France should be aware of several disruptions affecting Metro, RER, Transilien, and Tram services. While generally less severe than usual for the pre-Christmas period, some lines will experience significant changes due to ongoing works and unforeseen incidents. Below is a detailed breakdown of the expected disruptions to help you plan your journeys.
Metro
- Line 1: Until January 4, on weekends from 4:00 PM to 2:45 AM, access to Tuileries station will be closed due to high traffic at the Christmas market.
RER
- RER A: Until December 19, from Monday to Friday starting at 9:50 PM, traffic is interrupted between Cergy – Le Haut and Maisons-Laffitte due to maintenance work.
- RER B: No disruptions reported.
- RER C: Until January 11, the Issy stop is not served towards Dourdan la Forêt, Saint-Martin d’Étampes, and Massy – Palaiseau. From 11:45 PM on Sunday, December 21, traffic is interrupted between Paris Austerlitz and Dourdan/Saint-Martin d’Étampes. The same applies until December 19 from Javel towards Saint-Quentin en Yvelines, between Versailles Château Rive Gauche and Javel. Also, from 11:30 PM, between Gare d’Austerlitz and Dourdan/Saint-Martin d’Étampes. And from 11:00 PM, between Juvisy and Paris Austerlitz and between Paris Austerlitz and Pont de Rungis.
- RER D: From Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19, on weekdays from 11:15 PM, traffic is interrupted between Gare de Lyon and Melun, and between Gare de Lyon and Corbeil-Essonnes. Until December 24, from Monday to Friday starting at 11:30 PM, traffic is interrupted between Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon due to ongoing works. Until January 3 (excluding public holidays), traffic is interrupted on weekdays from 11:35 PM between Paris Gare du Nord and Creil.
- RER E: From Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19, traffic is interrupted between Nanterre-la-Folie and Chelles Gournay from 10:45 PM due to works. A replacement bus service is available, serving intermediate stations.
Transilien
- Line H: From December 15 to December 19 inclusive, from Monday to Friday between 11:35 PM and 4:30 AM, traffic will be interrupted between Gare du Nord and Ermont – Eaubonne * Sarcelles – Saint-Brice due to works.
- Line J: On December 16 from 9:25 PM to 3:00 AM, traffic will be interrupted between Pontoise and Gisors due to works. From Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19, traffic is interrupted between Conflans-Sainte-Honorine and Mantes-la-Jolie. From Monday, December 15 to Tuesday, December 30, excluding December 25, Saturdays, and Sundays, traffic is interrupted between Sartrouville and Les Mureaux, and between Sartrouville and Mantes-la-Jolie.
- Line K: On Saturday, December 20, from 5:00 AM to 7:15 AM, traffic is interrupted between Crépy-en-Valois and Mitry – Claye. Until December 20, traffic is interrupted on weekdays in the evening from 8:10 PM between Gare du Nord and Crépy-en-Valois.
- Line L: Until December 19 inclusive, from Monday to Friday starting at 9:50 PM, traffic is interrupted between Sartrouville and Maisons-Laffitte, as well as between Saint-Cloud and Versailles Rive Droite due to works.
- Line N: From December 15 to December 20 inclusive, each evening from 1:00 AM, traffic will be interrupted between Gare Montparnasse and Versailles Chantiers due to works.
- Line P: Until December 19, on weekdays from 8:45 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Paris Est and Provins. The same applies from 10:00 PM between Paris Est and Château-Thierry. Also, between Paris and Coulommiers from 8:30 PM towards Paris and 9:15 PM towards Coulommiers.
- Line R: From December 15 to December 19 inclusive, from 10:30 PM to 4:00 AM, traffic will be interrupted between Gare de Lyon and Montereau via Moret – Veneux-les-Sablons, and between Montargis and Gare de Lyon due to works.
- Line U: Until Friday, December 19, on weekdays from 10:00 PM, traffic is interrupted between La Défense and La Verrière due to railway works. A replacement bus service is available.
Trams
- T1: Traffic is interrupted between Asnières – Quatre Routes and Gare de Saint-Denis and disrupted on the rest of the line due to damage by a third party at L’Île-Saint-Denis. Service resumption is anticipated by summer 2026. On the night of Thursday, May 15 to Friday, May 16, 2025, a boat collided with the bridge connecting Saint-Denis to Île-Saint-Denis. A replacement bus service has been implemented.
- T2: Until the end of February 2026, traffic is interrupted between Porte de Versailles and Suzanne Lenglen due to major modernization works. To reach Porte de Versailles from Suzanne Lenglen, walk to the Balard station of T3a.
- T4: From Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19, traffic is interrupted between Gargan and Aulnay-sous-Bois from 12:55 AM. Trams run between Bondy and Hôpital de Montfermeil until the end of service, serving stations between Bondy and Gargan. A replacement bus service is available, serving intermediate stations due to works.
