Paris Public Transport Faces Disruptions from January 12-18, 2026

Paris, January 12 – Public transport in Paris and the Île-de-France region is set to experience significant disruptions throughout the week, from Monday, January 12, to Sunday, January 18, 2026. Travelers using RATP and SNCF services, including the metro, RER, and Transilien, should anticipate changes to their usual journeys due to ongoing modernization and maintenance works.

Extensive Works Across Metro Lines

The Metro Line 12 will see widespread interruptions. Traffic will be halted across the entire line every Wednesday from 10:00 PM until March 11, every Sunday from 10:00 PM until February 15, and on various Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10:00 PM until April 12. These closures are all attributed to modernization efforts.

RER Network Undergoing Major Upgrades

The RER B line will be particularly affected. Throughout the year, traffic is interrupted between Châtelet – Les Halles and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 – TGV / Mitry – Claye on weekdays from 10:45 PM, with some exceptions. Additionally, every Saturday between January 17 and February 28 (excluding January 10 and February 7), traffic will be interrupted from 10:45 PM between Gare du Nord and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 – TGV / Mitry – Claye.

On the RER C line, daily disruptions are scheduled until January 30. From Monday to Friday, starting at 11:45 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Javel and Saint-Quentin en Yvelines – Montigny-le-Bretonneux, and also between Versailles Château Rive Gauche and Javel. Similar interruptions will occur from 11:00 PM between Gare d’Austerlitz and Juvisy, Gare d’Austerlitz and Pont de Rungis Aéroport d’Orly, Gare d’Austerlitz and Saint-Martin d’Étampes, and between Pontoise and Avenue Henri Martin. On Sunday, January 18, from 11:45 PM, traffic will be halted between Paris Austerlitz and Dourdan / Saint-Martin d’Étampes. Weekend disruptions will affect the route between Saint-Quentin en Yvelines – Montigny-le-Bretonneux and Invalides, and between Versailles Château Rive Gauche and Invalides.

The RER D line will also experience significant interruptions. Until January 31, from Monday to Friday, starting at 11:15 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Gare de Lyon and Corbeil-Essonnes / Melun. From Monday to Saturday, until February 1, between 9:30 PM and 5:30 AM, traffic will be halted between Creil and Orry-la-Ville – Coye. The same schedule applies for weekdays until January 31. On Saturday, January 17, and Sunday, January 18, traffic will be interrupted between Corbeil-Essonnes and Melun, and between Gare de Lyon and Melun. On Saturday, January 17, from 11:35 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Creil and Gare du Nord.

For the RER E line, Saturday, January 17, will see traffic interruptions from 10:30 PM between Nanterre-La-Folie and Tournan. Until January 30, from Monday to Friday, starting at 10:45 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Nanterre-La-Folie and Chelles – Gournay. Until February 13, from Monday to Friday, starting at 8:30 PM, traffic will be halted between Nanterre-La-Folie and Tournan. On Sunday, January 18, from 10:30 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Nanterre-La-Folie and Tournan / Villiers-sur-Marne – Le Plessis-Trévise.

Transilien Services Also Affected

Transilien Line H will have disruptions from January 12 to January 23, with traffic interrupted between Épinay – Villetaneuse and Ermont – Eaubonne from 11:30 PM on weekdays.

On Transilien Line J, until January 23, from Monday to Friday, traffic will be interrupted from 9:15 PM from Issou – Porcheville to Mantes-la-Jolie, and from 9:40 PM between Gare Saint-Lazare and Mantes-la-Jolie via Poissy. On January 17, from 12:00 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Mantes-la-Jolie and Vernon – Giverny.

Transilien Line L will experience interruptions until February 6, from Monday to Friday, starting at 10:10 PM, between La Défense and Versailles Rive Droite / Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche Forêt de Marly.

For Transilien Line N, until January 23, from Monday to Friday, traffic will be interrupted from 11:00 PM between Gare Montparnasse and Rambouillet, and from 10:00 PM from Gare Montparnasse to Mantes-la-Jolie. On Saturday, January 17, from 11:00 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Gare Montparnasse and Rambouillet, and from 10:30 PM between Gare Montparnasse and Dreux.

The Transilien Line P will have weekend disruptions on Saturday, January 17, and Sunday, January 18, from 11:00 PM, between Gare de l’Est and Château-Thierry. Until March 22, on weekends from 10:50 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Gare de l’Est and Meaux, and from 10:30 PM between Gare de l’Est and Coulommiers. Weekday disruptions will occur until February 13, from Monday to Friday, from 10:20 PM between Gare de l’Est and Meaux. Until March 27, from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Gare de l’Est and Château-Thierry. Until February 27, from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 PM, traffic will be halted between Gare de l’Est and Coulommiers, and from 7:45 PM between Gare de l’Est and Provins.

Finally, Transilien Line R will see daily interruptions until January 30, from Monday to Saturday, between 11:15 PM and 4:00 AM, between Gare de Lyon and Montargis / Montereau. From Monday to Friday, from 11:15 PM, traffic will be halted between Gare de Lyon and Montargis and Montereau via Moret – Veneux-les-Sablons. Until January 17, from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 PM, traffic will be interrupted between Melun and Montereau.

The Transilien Line U will be entirely interrupted until January 30, from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 PM. On Saturday, January 17, and Sunday, January 18, the entire line will be closed from 11:00 PM.

Tramway Disruptions

Tramway T1 is currently experiencing an interruption between Asnières – Quatre Routes and Gare de Saint-Denis, with disruptions on the rest of the line, due to damage by a third party at L’Île-Saint-Denis. Service is expected to resume in summer 2026.

Tramway T2 will have traffic interrupted between Porte de Versailles and Suzanne Lenglen until the end of February 2026, due to extensive modernization works. Passengers wishing to reach Porte de Versailles from Suzanne Lenglen are advised to walk to the Balard station of the T3a line.

Passengers are strongly advised to consult the RATP and SNCF websites or mobile applications for real-time updates and alternative routes before commencing their journeys this week.
