Paris, December 13 – An undeclared fireworks display orchestrated by YouTuber Loris Giuliano at the Trocadéro on Friday, December 12, has prompted an official investigation by the Paris police prefecture. The spectacular event, held to mark the release of Giuliano’s film about Napoli, occurred around 10 PM, much to the displeasure of authorities who were not informed of the plans.

Investigation Launched for Endangering Lives

The Paris police prefecture confirmed to actu Paris that an investigation has been opened into the incident, citing concerns over endangering the lives of others. The impromptu pyrotechnic show, while visually impressive, lacked the necessary permits and safety protocols typically associated with such events in a public space as prominent as the Trocadéro.

Loris Giuliano, a French content creator and son of Italian immigrants, launched his documentary film “Napoli” on YouTube on Friday at 7:15 PM. The film is described as a personal project exploring Naples, its football club, and a family history. The fireworks display was intended as a celebratory gesture for this release.

Giuliano Expresses Joy Despite Potential Repercussions

Despite the unfolding police investigation, Loris Giuliano expressed immense satisfaction following the event. In a video, he exclaimed, “Exceptional… I am so happy,” while displaying a T-shirt emblazoned with “Napoli Tour.” He further added, “Special video, special upload, I love you all,” indicating his delight with the film’s launch and the accompanying spectacle.

The incident at Trocadéro is not an isolated one. Earlier in November, a similar “wild” fireworks display was reportedly set off near the Eiffel Tower. That event was attributed to members of the Parisian section of Ultras Winners 2005, supporters of the Moroccan football club Wydad Athletic Club from Casablanca. They reportedly organized the pyrotechnic show along the Seine between the 15th and 16th arrondissements of Paris to celebrate their anniversary.

The recurrence of such undeclared events in high-profile locations raises questions about public safety and the enforcement of regulations regarding public gatherings and pyrotechnic displays in the French capital. Authorities are expected to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding Giuliano’s event to determine potential liabilities and prevent future occurrences of unauthorized spectacles that could pose risks to the public.

The investigation will likely focus on how the fireworks were acquired, transported, and deployed without official authorization, and whether any specific individuals or entities beyond Giuliano himself were involved in the planning and execution of the undeclared event.
