Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, March 4, 2026 – The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is set to host the ‘Public Employment Month’ from March 9 to April 4, 2026. This initiative, spearheaded by the regional prefecture and various public employers, aims to introduce the diverse range of public sector professions and recruitment opportunities available. Nearly twenty events are scheduled across several cities in the region, including Lyon, Grenoble, Clermont-Ferrand, Valence, Privas, Aubenas, Bourg-en-Bresse, Yzeure, Cusset, Saint-Étienne, Chambéry, and Aurillac.

A Sector with Over 1,000 Diverse Professions

The public service sector encompasses more than 1,000 different professions, spanning a wide array of fields such as defense, culture, justice, education, digital technology, and environmental protection. These careers offer opportunities to work anywhere in France, at various qualification levels, with or without competitive examinations, and provide significant prospects for professional development.

In light of this, the Prefecture of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in collaboration with public employers from both state and territorial public service, is organizing this regional operation to enhance awareness of these professional opportunities.

Events Across Multiple Cities in the Region

Approximately twenty events will be held throughout the regional territory. These initiatives are designed for young people, job seekers, individuals undergoing professional retraining, and anyone interested in learning more about public service careers.

Variety of Event Formats

The ‘Public Employment Month’ will feature a range of event formats, including open days, forums, job dating sessions, morning information sessions, and thematic webinars. The primary goals of these events are twofold:

  • To enable the public to engage directly with public agents, gaining a deeper understanding of the diversity of their missions and their commitment to serving the general interest.
  • To facilitate meetings with recruiters and the discovery of new professional environments within the public sector.

A detailed program of all events is available on the regional prefecture’s website.
