Saint-Brieuc’s ‘Chorus United’ Choir to Perform in Paris this June

Saint-Brieuc, January 12 – The newly formed choir ‘Chorus United,’ established in September 2025, is rapidly growing and preparing for a significant performance in Paris this June. The choir, currently comprising around forty members, will take to the stage at the Dôme de Paris alongside a renowned artist whose identity remains a secret.

A Choir Open to All

Led by choir director Vanessa Guillot, ‘Chorus United’ holds its rehearsals every Friday at the Totem de la Baie in Saint-Brieuc. Guillot emphasizes the choir’s inclusive philosophy: “No auditions, everyone comes as they are. The choir is open to all from the age of 14 and is certainly not reserved for an elite!”

French Variety Music at its Core

The choir’s repertoire primarily focuses on French variety music. “It brings together songs that the choristers often already know, which facilitates learning and strengthens group dynamics. Contemporary titles by Jean-Jacques Goldman, Vanessa Paradis, Lara Fabian, Florent Pagny, and Patrick Fiori punctuate the rehearsals,” Guillot stated. To further assist learning, backing tracks are provided, allowing each member to progress at their own pace.

Two Choirs, One Vision

Guillot also founded another choir in Trémuson at the same time, which already boasts 55 members rehearsing on Monday evenings. During the end-of-year holidays, she successfully brought both vocal ensembles together for a joint rehearsal, uniting nearly 90 choristers. “A good start that is not about to stop there, when I see the smiles of the choristers. We are having fun together,” rejoiced Vanessa, who has many projects in mind.

A Grand Performance at the Dôme de Paris

The upcoming highlight for the choristers will be their participation in a concert at the Dôme de Paris. This event, scheduled for June, will see them perform alongside a famous artist whose name is being kept under wraps. Founded in 2006 by Franck Castellano, Chorus United is now one of Europe’s largest amateur French variety choirs, bringing together nearly 10,000 choristers across some fifty choirs. Rehearsals for the Saint-Brieuc group take place every Friday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Totem de la Baie. A free trial session is offered for those interested in discovering choral singing.

Membership for “Chorus United, by the Chœur du sud” is €80 per quarter. Rehearsals are held every Friday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Totem de la Baie in Saint-Brieuc. For more information, contact choir director Vanessa Guillot at 06 88 95 47 17.
