Lyon, December 15, 2025 – Two new commercial establishments, one of which is a highly reputed Lyonnaise brand, are set to open on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in Hall 1 of the Lyon Part-Dieu SNCF station. This development marks the near completion of renovation works in Hall 1, promising “innovative, eco-designed, and welcoming” spaces for the thousands of daily travelers.
A Culinary Gem: Mère Brazier’s Counter-Deli
Among the new arrivals is an eagerly anticipated counter-deli from Mère Brazier, the renowned gastronomic restaurant holding two Michelin stars. This expansion follows the success of similar Mère Brazier counter-delis located at Les Halles Paul Bocuse, on Cours Roosevelt in the 6th arrondissement, and in Vaise (Lyon 9th).
These counter-delis offer a unique living space that combines a bakery, pastry shop, delicatessen, creamery, wine merchant, grocery, and sometimes even a greengrocer. The new Part-Dieu location will feature a varied selection of quiches, salads, and sandwiches. It will also highlight local Lyonnaise products available for take-away, such as individual pâté en croûte, brioche sausages, and savory pastries sold by the meter, catering to travelers seeking quality local cuisine on the go.
A Fresh Vegetarian Option: Donnant Café et Porridges
Adjacent to the Mère Brazier counter-deli, the second new establishment will be Donnant Café et Porridges. This 100% vegetarian brand, already present at Gare du Nord in Paris, offers a selection of coffees and specializes in porridge – a warm oatmeal dish originating from Scotland, typically consumed for breakfast. Donnant aims to provide a healthy and convenient option for commuters and visitors at the station.
New Family-Friendly Amenities
In addition to the new retail spaces, a dedicated family area is also slated to open. SNCF promises that this new space, located “in the heart of the station,” will offer a “pleasant and relaxing experience for families in transit,” further enhancing the overall traveler experience at Lyon Part-Dieu.
The new spaces in Hall 1 of Lyon Part-Dieu SNCF station are expected to be fully delivered on Thursday, December 18, coinciding with the opening of these two new shops. These additions are part of a broader effort to modernize and improve the services offered at one of France’s busiest railway hubs.
