Paris, France – Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) officially unveiled a new unified jingle on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, which will soon resonate across all RATP and SNCF public transport networks in the Île-de-France region. This new melody will replace the two distinct jingles that have accompanied commuters for the past two decades.

A New Sound for a Unified Network

The new jingle, a six-note composition, was designed by composer Arnaud Biscay and producer Jean Dindinaud from the agency Chez Jean. It aims to provide a consistent auditory experience for the millions of daily commuters across Paris and its surrounding region.

The Composition: From Footsteps to Travel

Arnaud Biscay detailed the jingle’s three-part structure. It begins with “a crescendo and percussion” evoking “the sound of footsteps,” transitioning into the core melody, described as “the true identity, the jingle that will stick in your head.” The piece concludes with “a chord that opens up to movement and travel,” signifying the journey ahead.

Jean Dindinaud emphasized the jingle’s role in fostering a sense of unity among diverse travelers. “The network is so gigantic, the people who use it are so different, with different ways of traveling. It’s important that they can recognize themselves through a few notes, on the same network,” he explained.

Phased Rollout Across the Network

The new jingle is expected to be introduced on select lines within the next few days. A full rollout across all buses, metros, Transiliens, and RER lines in the region is anticipated by mid-2026. This phased implementation will allow for a gradual transition and familiarization for commuters.

Background: The Need for Unification

For 20 years, RATP and SNCF had separate jingles, contributing to a fragmented auditory identity across the extensive public transport system. IDFM’s decision to introduce a single, unifying jingle reflects a broader effort to enhance the passenger experience and reinforce the sense of a cohesive regional transport network.

Impact on Commuters and the City

The introduction of a new jingle is a subtle yet significant change for the daily lives of Parisians and visitors who rely on public transport. While some may feel nostalgic for the old melodies, the new jingle is designed to be a modern and unifying sound for the city’s dynamic transport landscape.

The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts by Île-de-France Mobilités to modernize and improve public transport services, ensuring a more consistent and user-friendly experience for all passengers.
