Student Violently Stabbed in Villeurbanne Apartment Parking Lot

VILLEURBANNE, January 20 – A student in Villeurbanne, within the Lyon metropolitan area, was violently stabbed in the arm in the underground parking lot of his residence on Monday, January 19, around 10 PM. The assailant, reportedly on a scooter, attempted to steal the student’s phone.

The incident occurred at 50 rue Clément-Michut. The victim, whose identity has not been released, managed to escape the attack and return to his apartment to call for help. Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene and transported the injured student to Edouard-Herriot Hospital.

Investigation Underway

According to initial reports, the student’s life is not in danger. The interdepartmental directorate of the national police of the Rhône has confirmed that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.

This attack brings to mind a previous incident in Villeurbanne on December 20, 2025, when another student was hit by a stray bullet in the knee during an armed dispute between two individuals at Place Grandclément.
