33 ‘France Santé Houses’ Certified in Rhône and Lyon Métropole

Lyon, January 28 – Thirty-three local healthcare facilities in the Rhône department, with twenty-two located within the Lyon Métropole, have recently been certified as ‘Maison France Santé’ (France Santé Houses). This initiative is part of a national deployment of the France Santé network, designed to strengthen access to primary care and enhance the clarity of local healthcare services.

The certification process was jointly managed by the ARS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the Prefecture of Rhône, the Departmental Council of Rhône, and the Lyon Métropole. It aligns with a national dynamic promoted by the Government, which by the end of 2025 had already seen over 180 facilities certified in the region, with further certifications planned for 2026.

A System to Structure Local Healthcare Services

The ‘Maison France Santé’ label is granted to existing or developing primary care facilities. By consolidating them under a common banner, the objective is to make healthcare services more transparent for patients and to foster collaboration among healthcare professionals through a multidisciplinary approach.

Certified facilities must meet several criteria, including the presence of a general practitioner with a registered patient base, the presence of a nurse, operating hours of at least five days a week, and the absence of additional fees. They must also be able to offer appointments within 48 hours when a patient’s health condition requires it, or to direct them to an appropriate care solution within the same timeframe.

Diverse Organizational Models

The ‘Maison France Santé’ initiative encompasses various types of structures. These can include multidisciplinary health centers, general health centers, medical practices with multiple practitioners, healthcare establishments providing primary care, or innovative models such as solidarity health incubators, advanced hospital consultations, pharmacies equipped with telemedicine solutions, or mobile medical units (médicobus).

Strong Presence in the Lyon Métropole

Of the thirty-three newly certified facilities, twenty-two are located within the Lyon Métropole. These are distributed across several municipalities and districts, including Bron, Cailloux-sur-Fontaines, Corbas, Écully, Fontaines-Saint-Martin, Grigny-sur-Rhône, Lyon, Mions, Oullins Pierre-Bénite, Rillieux-la-Pape, Vaulx-en-Velin, and Villeurbanne.

The remaining eleven certified facilities are situated in other parts of the Rhône department, specifically in Amplepuis, Beauvallon, Brindas, Chabanière, Cours-la-Ville, Genas, Juliénas, Morancé, Thizy-les-Bourgs, Villefranche-sur-Saône, and Vindry-sur-Turdine.

Financial and Partnership Support

The expansion of the France Santé network relies on a collaborative management approach involving the Health Insurance, local elected officials, and representatives of healthcare professionals. Newly recognized ‘Maison France Santé’ facilities are eligible for dedicated funding to develop their services and enhance their role in providing local access to care.

This widespread certification marks a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility and coordination for residents across the Rhône department and the Lyon Métropole, ensuring a more structured and responsive primary care system.
