Paris, February 8, 2026 – The Musée de l’Armée, located in the historic Les Invalides complex, has unveiled a new dining concept, “Quartier 1670,” a restaurant inspired by the beloved Parisian bouillons. This new establishment aims to blend cultural exploration with culinary delight, offering visitors a taste of traditional French cuisine in an exceptional setting.

A Culinary Transformation at a Historic Site

Recognizing the need to enhance its dining offerings, Les Invalides, which attracts nearly 1.3 million visitors annually, has partnered with Sodexo Live! to introduce three new culinary concepts. The highlight of this initiative is “Quartier 1670,” a restaurant designed to capture the essence of early 20th-century Parisian bouillons – known for their generous, unpretentious, and affordable meals.

“Quartier 1670” is strategically located at the foot of the majestic Dome of Les Invalides. It offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, catering to a diverse clientele including families, tourists, and local Parisians. With over 200 seats, including a spacious indoor area and an inviting outdoor terrace for warmer days, the restaurant celebrates classic French dishes.

Affordable French Classics in a Grand Setting

The menu at “Quartier 1670” features a selection of traditional French fare at accessible prices. Starters range from 5 to 7 euros and include options such as organic mayonnaise egg, herring salad with old-fashioned mustard, and pumpkin velouté with golden croutons. Main courses, priced between 13 and 22 euros, offer comforting choices like veal blanquette with mushrooms, roasted French duck fillet, and vegetarian options like spinach-goat cheese tart and organic red pesto omelette.

Desserts, priced between 7 and 8 euros, evoke nostalgic flavors with options such as baba, dark chocolate mousse, hibiscus-poached pear, and a slice of flan. The service style is a hybrid model, combining self-service with table service, ensuring a relaxed and stress-free dining experience.

From Breakfast to Afternoon Tea: A Full Day Offering

“Quartier 1670” operates throughout the day, accommodating museum visitors from morning until late afternoon. It offers breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and a variety of hot and cold beverages. Special menus for children, vegetarian options, and dishes adapted to specific dietary requirements are also available, making it an ideal stop before or after exploring the museum’s exhibitions.

In addition to “Quartier 1670,” two other dining concepts are set to open. “Le Bivouac,” expected in spring in the Cour de Nîmes, will offer from April to October a reinterpreted French cuisine with a focus on travel, featuring itinerant chefs inspired by countries traversed during Napoleonic campaigns. “La Roulante,” an electric food cart, will provide quick bites such as sandwiches, savory snacks, and sweet treats for those on the go.

This initiative underscores “Quartier 1670″‘s commitment to combining heritage, conviviality, and popular cuisine at affordable prices within an exceptional historical framework, offering both tourists and Parisians a new and comforting culinary destination opposite the Dome of Les Invalides.
