Ethical Fashion Evening #3 in Lyon: Join the Fashion Revolution
The fast fashion industry continues to reveal its limitations, with millions of garments produced under indecent social conditions, sold at rock-bottom prices, worn a few times, and then quickly discarded. This production and consumption model carries significant human and environmental costs. However, a new narrative is emerging, driven by citizen initiatives, local designers, and brands that are reimagining fashion production. Lyon is at the forefront of this movement.
Instead of being passive observers, we can actively shape the future of fashion. As part of Fashion Revolution Week, you are invited to the 3rd edition of the “Ethical Fashion Evening” on April 22, 2026, at the Chapelle de la Trinité in Lyon.
Event Program:
- 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Exhibitor Market (designers, committed brands, etc.), workshops and games focused on ethical fashion, food court, and more!
- 7:00 PM – 7:45 PM: Conference on the history of fashion and its evolution
- 7:45 PM: Ethical Fashion Show
The History of Fashion Revolution:
On April 24, 2013, the Rana Plaza, an old textile factory in Bangladesh, collapsed, killing 1,138 people and injuring 2,500. This tragedy exposed the indecent conditions within the textile industry. A year later, the Fashion Revolution movement was created to raise awareness about fast fashion and promote responsible fashion practices.
Present in 80 countries, Fashion Revolution organizes actions every April to advocate for human rights, living wages, an end to child labor, and transparency in the textile industry. In Lyon, the movement has been active since 2018. The Greener Good has been involved since its inception, initially with urban walks to discover fashion stakeholders, and then launching the Ethical Fashion Evening in 2024.
