Soirée “En Mode Éthique” #3: The Lyonnaise Fashion Revolution

Date: April 22, 2026

Location: Chapelle De La Trinité, Lyon

Admission: Free, with suggested donation

The 3rd edition of the “En Mode Éthique” evening is set to take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Chapelle De La Trinité in Lyon. This event is a key part of the Fashion Revolution Week, dedicated to transforming the fashion industry towards more ethical and sustainable practices.

Why Attend?

The fast fashion industry continues to face scrutiny for its human and environmental costs. Millions of garments are produced under questionable social conditions, sold cheaply, worn briefly, and then quickly discarded. This event aims to highlight these issues and present viable, ethical alternatives.

Lyon has been a hub for initiatives that are reshaping the fashion landscape, with local creators and brands leading the charge in ethical production and consumption. This evening offers a unique opportunity to engage with these efforts and contribute to a more responsible fashion future.

Event Program:

  • 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Ethical Market & Activities
    • Explore a market featuring ethical creators and committed brands.
    • Participate in animations and games focused on ethical fashion.
    • Enjoy a catering area and other engaging activities.
  • 7:00 PM – 7:45 PM: Conference on the History and Evolution of Fashion
    • Gain insights into how fashion has evolved and the challenges it faces today.
  • 7:45 PM: Ethical Fashion Show
    • Witness a showcase of sustainable and ethically produced clothing.

The Story of Fashion Revolution:

The global Fashion Revolution movement was founded on April 24, 2013, following the tragic collapse of the Rana Plaza factory in Bangladesh, which resulted in 1,138 deaths and 2,500 injuries. This disaster exposed the horrific conditions prevalent in the textile industry.

Operating in 80 countries, Fashion Revolution organizes annual events at the end of April to advocate for human rights, living wages, an end to child labor, and transparency within the textile industry. In Lyon, the movement has been active since 2018, with The Greener Good playing a significant role. Initially, this involved urban walks to discover local ethical fashion actors, leading to the launch of the “Soirée en Mode Éthique” in 2024.

How to Participate:

Admission to the event is free, but registration is highly recommended to help support the cause and secure your spot, as capacity is limited. You are also encouraged to make a voluntary donation.
