The flour hangs in the air like snow. Thick, white, everywhere. On the floor, on the shelves, on the hair of Stanisław Nowak, who for forty-five years has been getting up at three in the morning to bake bread for his district. He is seventy-two years old, but his hands – wrinkled, covered with burn scars – move with the precision of a surgeon.
The Shadow of Grief Over Lyon’s Real Estate
The Lyon real estate community finds itself once again shrouded in sorrow. Just as professionals were bidding farewell to Cyril Arjona (César & Brutus) and Guillaume Lenoble (6ème Sens Immobilier), a new tragedy has struck them hard. The news of Romain Rajon’s passing has sent shockwaves through the sector, leaving many grappling with disbelief and profound sadness.
Romain Rajon, a vibrant 36-year-old, met his untimely end on Friday, May 15, 2026, in Tamslouht, a rural commune in the Al Haouz province of the Marrakech-Safi region, Morocco. He was on a weekend trip with friends for a bachelor party when the tragedy occurred. According to initial reports, he “died of natural causes, a victim of a heart attack in his sleep,” as recounted by his brother François-Xavier, who traveled to Marrakech to bring him home.
A Passionate Professional, a Radiant Personality
Romain Rajon was a man deeply passionate about real estate. A graduate of Lyon III Faculty of Law (2009) and holding a BTS in real estate professions from Sciences U (2012), he dedicated his career to the field he loved. His brother fondly remembers him as someone who “loved to connect with others.” Over the years, Romain worked with several agencies, including Sotheby’s Lyon, Bourse de l’immobilier (during his apprenticeship), César et Brutus, and Nexity, before finding his professional home at Régie Carron two years ago.
Cécile Carron, his colleague at Régie Carron, shared a heartfelt tribute on LinkedIn, painting a vivid picture of Romain’s character: “Romain was that light capable of illuminating even the darkest days. A smile, a joke, a conversation, and everything became lighter. He had that rare gift of making people laugh, bringing people together, and making everyone feel at ease, always with disarming sincerity.”
She continued, highlighting his professional prowess: “In his work, Romain was simply remarkable. A true commercial professional, passionate, brilliant in the art of conversation, capable of building connections with anyone. He managed his interactions with a master’s hand, with that ease and charisma that made him unique. And then there were his little phrases, like when he affectionately called Régie Carron ‘Régie Rajon,’ which will make us smile for a long time to come.”
Tributes from Friends and Colleagues
Julien Chavry of Kelios Group also expressed his grief and admiration: “It is a friend and an outstanding professional who leaves us. We all bear immense grief with this loss. Romain was one of those who connect us from the first exchange, one of those who laugh, one of those who are benevolent in all circumstances, and one of those for whom friendship and loyalty are a religion.”
A poignant photo from May 22, 2014, captures Romain (on the right) with Léa Sournac (La blonde et la brune), Romain Rostagnat, and Marie-Caroline Chapiron at the Bruschetta Party of Carmelina, a testament to his vibrant social life and connections within the community.
Another image, from June 7, 2024, shows Romain defending the colors of Régie Carron at the UNIS pétanque tournament with Nilgul Gokce and Pascal Matera, illustrating his active participation and camaraderie within the industry.
A Community United in Grief
The news of Romain’s death has cast a long shadow over the Lyon real estate sector, a community that has faced several losses recently. His passing serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the deep bonds forged within professional circles.
Romain’s funeral will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 9:30 AM at the Saint-Philibert parish church in Charlieu (42). He will then be laid to rest in the cemetery of Mornand-en-Forez. The editorial team of Lyon People extends its heartfelt condolences to his parents, his brothers François Xavier and Nicolas, and all his loved ones.
His memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew him, a testament to a life lived with passion, dedication, and a radiant spirit that touched many.
