Villeurbanne, May 29, 2026 – A tragic hit-and-run incident occurred this Friday morning on Route de Genas in Villeurbanne, bordering Lyon, resulting in the death of a man riding an electric scooter. The driver of the car involved in the collision fled the scene, leaving the victim behind, according to police and fire department sources.

The accident took place around 8:30 AM near Place Kimmerling, an area straddling Lyon’s 3rd arrondissement and Villeurbanne. Initial reports indicate that an automobile struck a man, approximately thirty years old, who was operating an electric scooter.
