For those of you who know the 6th arrondissement, you’ll remember the legendary Casa Jaguar. And guess what? Lumia has taken over its old spot at 157 rue Cuvier! The past is the past, but the new owner, Bastien Bonnefoy, is giving a major nod to the past with a jaguar presence on the walls. It’s a beautiful tribute, but Lumia is here to make its own mark!
After a legal battle ended Casa Jaguar’s run, the lights came back on June 3rd, and Lumia appeared. With its dazzling light displays, meticulous decor, and a unique artistic direction, this place is already screaming ‘destination spot!’
“I wanted to keep the Casa Jaguar vibe and the Latin American identity that I really liked, while adding a touch of modernity,” reveals manager Bastien Bonnefoy.
Bastien, who also owns the neighboring cocktail bar, You, clearly knows a thing or two about creating a good time!
Latin American Heat Meets Festive Elegance! 💃
After three months of intense renovations, Lumia is rocking its own unique atmosphere. Think tropical background music, diverse settings, and seating for 70! “The restaurant is divided into two rooms, one of which is more intimate, with a sunset ambiance. In the middle of the two, we wanted to create a very open cocktail bar, as if we were serving at home,” explains the entrepreneur, who’s always up for a new project.
Bastien knows that to win over the loyal clientele of Casa Jaguar, the food has to be on point. And for that, he found the perfect chef: Isaac Acosta Alvarez, originally from Mexico! 🇲🇽 Talk about a match made in heaven!
