Chef Dura’s creation was designed to yield a whopping 2,500 slices and required over 600 kilograms of ingredients! Imagine this:

  • Around 300 kg of homemade pralines
  • 250 kg of cream
  • 150 kg of sweet pastry dough

If you’re wondering who could pull off such a feat, it’s none other than Thomas Dura himself! This guy isn’t just any baker; he snagged the title of World Champion of the Praline Tart in 2025 at the Mondial de la Praline! His winning tart even featured a rosette inspired by the stained glass of Saint-Jean Cathedral – talk about a sweet nod to Lyon’s heritage! ⛪

For this XXL version, the challenge was both technical and delicious. Elements were prepped in the lab and then assembled LIVE on site, right before the public’s mesmerized eyes! Reports say it took 95 plates and 152 elements to bring this giant tart to life! 🤯
