Lyon, France – Maxi Zoo, recognized as France’s favorite pet store brand in 2026, is continuing its expansion in Lyon with the opening of a second store. Following its establishment in the Confluence center earlier this year, the company is preparing to launch a new boutique in the heart of the city on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. The new location will be found at 32 Rue Victor-Hugo, a highly commercial thoroughfare in the 2nd arrondissement.

A 175m² Space Tailored for City Dwellers

The new Maxi Zoo store, boasting a 175 square meter retail space and a team of four employees, has been specifically designed to cater to the needs of urban residents, according to a company statement. It will offer a curated selection of 2,300 products dedicated to the well-being of companion animals. This range includes a variety of kibbles, treats, wet foods, accessories, toys, bedding, and hygiene products, ensuring a comprehensive offering for pets and their owners. The selection will span from entry-level to super-premium products, aiming to meet diverse needs while respecting customers’ budgets.

Free Activities and Ambitious Expansion

In addition to its product offerings, the new store plans to host free activities throughout the year, such as photo sessions and dog training workshops. This initiative aligns with Maxi Zoo’s ambitious expansion strategy, which targets over 60 new store openings across France in 2026 – an average of more than one new store per week. The overarching goal is to ensure that every customer can access a Maxi Zoo store within a 20-minute drive.

This aggressive growth plan underscores Maxi Zoo’s commitment to increasing its presence and accessibility to pet owners across the country. The company’s continued investment in new locations, particularly in urban centers like Lyon, reflects its confidence in the pet care market and its dedication to serving a growing customer base.
