The event, open to all runners aged 16 and over, is a charitable initiative with all proceeds benefiting the Premiers de Cordée association, dedicated to promoting sports for hospitalized and disabled children. The race is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM.
A Sporting and Solidarity Event for a Noble Cause
This inaugural 10K race marks a significant event for Lagardère Paris Racing, coinciding with its 20th anniversary. The event aims to bring together seasoned runners, casual joggers, and supporters of charitable causes to collectively aid the Premiers de Cordée association, recognized for its public interest work.
Founded in 1999, Premiers de Cordée has been instrumental for over two and a half decades in providing physical and sports activities to hospitalized and disabled children. The association organizes hundreds of sports initiations annually in hospitals and specialized institutions across France, relying on a network of volunteers and partners from the sports world.
The race also aligns with the European Heritage Days program, adding a cultural and symbolic dimension to the event. The course is designed to be accessible to both experienced athletes and occasional participants who wish to contribute to a worthy cause in the iconic setting of Bois de Boulogne, located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
A Historic Route with Renowned Ambassadors
The 10K route promises a memorable experience, particularly at the ninth kilometer, where participants will run through the Lagardère Paris Racing club and cross the legendary grass track of Croix Catelan. This site notably hosted the 1900 Olympic Games. Runners will also pass by portraits of prominent figures in French sports, transforming each stride into a journey through the memory of French athletic achievements.
For this first edition, Lagardère Paris Racing has enlisted three iconic French sports ambassadors who will participate in the race and embody its values of solidarity:
- Thierry Omeyer: World Champion and two-time Olympic handball champion, a symbol of self-transcendence and collective commitment.
- Camille Serme: Former world number two in squash, celebrated for her exceptional achievements and dedication to sports for all.
- Yoann Huget: Former rugby international, committed to the values of sharing and generosity that define the spirit of this event.
