L’ISLE-D’ABEAU, July 24, 2026 – A devastating incident occurred on Thursday evening, July 23, 2026, in the commune of L’Isle-d’Abeau, Isère, near Bourgoin-Jallieu, when a two-year-old child drowned in a private family swimming pool. Emergency Services Respond to Tragic Incident

Despite the rapid intervention of firefighters (sapeurs-pompiers) and a SMUR medical team, the young boy, who was pulled from the water in cardio-respiratory arrest, unfortunately did not survive. According to reports, the child is believed to have fallen into the pool after momentarily escaping the vigilance of his parents.
