40th Anniversary of the 10 km Onatera Paris 17 Race to Feature Hugues Lavigne as Ambassador
Paris, August 9, 2026 – The 10 km Onatera Paris 17 race is set to celebrate its 40th edition on Sunday, November 29, 2026. This symbolic anniversary marks a significant milestone for one of the capital’s most popular running events. Organizers are aiming for 8,000 participants, with a course renowned for its speed and a festive atmosphere in the heart of the 17th arrondissement.
The event, organized by the Paris 17th arrondissement City Hall with the support of the Office du Mouvement Sportif du 17e and the La Salésienne club, attracts both runners seeking personal bests and those simply looking to enjoy a convivial moment. To mark this 40th anniversary, the race welcomes a new ambassador: Hugues Lavigne.
Hugues Lavigne: From Stage to Starting Line
Hugues Lavigne, known for his show “Hyperactif” at the Théâtre du Marais in Paris, his tours across France, and his widely followed social media videos, divides his time between theater stages and starting lines. Originally from Toulouse, he initially balanced his passion for rugby and running before focusing more seriously on running upon his arrival in Paris in 2018.
Lavigne’s first official 10 km race, at the age of 18, saw him achieve a promising time of 42 minutes and 36 seconds. Since then, he has developed a fondness for long distances, completing three marathons with remarkable consistency: 4h15, 4h14, and 4h16. He humorously notes that his secret is consistently “cracking” at the 35-kilometer mark. Despite his 1.88-meter height and 90-kilogram build, he emphasizes that he doesn’t fit the typical image of a long-distance runner, but as he puts it, “appearances sometimes run slower than legs.”
A Special Connection to the 17th Arrondissement
For this 40th edition, Hugues Lavigne officially becomes the ambassador for the 10 km Onatera Paris 17. This collaboration is particularly meaningful as the 17th arrondissement holds a special place in his personal history; it was his first Parisian home for three months upon his arrival in the city.
“Today, I am very happy to be the ambassador for the 10 km of the 17th, a district that is very dear to me since it’s where I first lived in Paris for three months! I’ve been told that the atmosphere is incredible and that there will be a lot of people. I am really proud and can’t wait to take the start,” said Lavigne.
In the coming months, Hugues will share his journey with participants through exclusive social media content, pre-race gatherings, and several surprises designed to enhance the preparation for this anniversary edition. With his involvement, the kilometers are expected to feel a little shorter, and smiles will be much more abundant.
