Paris, April 20, 2026 – Aeromexico’s inaugural flight from Paris to Monterrey has opened a new chapter in the relationship between France and Mexico. The ceremony at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport on Tuesday brought together numerous institutional and diplomatic representatives, all highlighting the significance of this new connection, which also commemorates 200 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Monterrey: A Key Economic Hub for Franco-Mexican Collaboration
Monterrey was presented as a major economic center, home to many French companies, underscoring the strategic importance of this new air link. Blanca Elena Jiménez Cisneros, the Mexican Ambassador to France, emphasized, “We aim to offer new connectivity options to meet the high demand between Mexico and Europe.” She added, “Paris serves as a gateway to Europe, not only for France but also for many international travelers.”
The ambassador also highlighted the timing of the flight’s launch, stating, “In anticipation of the FIFA World Cup, this direct flight places Mexico at the heart of the international stage.”
Anticipation Builds for the FIFA World Cup in Monterrey
This new route is particularly timely given Mexico’s role as a host nation for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, with four matches scheduled to take place in Monterrey. While the specific details of these matches will be announced later, the event is expected to draw a significant number of international visitors, further boosting the demand for direct air travel.
Premium Experience Onboard the Inaugural Flight
Passengers on the inaugural flight enjoyed a comfortable and premium experience. The flight, operated in business class (Clase Premier), offered spacious seating and attentive service. Prior to boarding, a Mexican singer created a festive and cultural atmosphere, while guests were treated to canapés, marking the special occasion.
Flight Schedule and Future Prospects
The new service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flights will depart from Paris at 12:00 PM, arriving in Monterrey at 3:30 PM local time. Return flights are scheduled for Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing Monterrey at 3:15 PM and arriving in Paris at 9:45 AM the following day.
The launch was followed by a 48-hour familiarization trip to Monterrey, allowing participants to explore a destination that, while relatively unknown to the French public, is rapidly gaining recognition for its economic dynamism and growing appeal.
Beyond merely inaugurating a new route, Aeromexico’s initiative reaffirms its commitment to strengthening connections between Europe and Mexico, focusing on regions with high potential. This move is expected to foster increased exchanges and underscore the robust ties between France and Mexico.
