Four Indicted Following Dramatic Luxury Car Heist in Paris
Paris, May 25 – Four individuals have been indicted on May 21 in connection with a spectacular luxury car theft that occurred in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. The suspects are believed to be part of a larger group that stole 27 high-end vehicles, including Porsches, Maseratis, and Ferraris, from a concierge service in the Beaugrenelle district.
The incident unfolded overnight from Saturday, May 16, to Sunday, May 17, when approximately fifteen masked individuals infiltrated the parking facility. Law enforcement, alerted by a security guard around 3:30 AM, responded swiftly. Four suspects were apprehended shortly after, around 4:00 AM, in the 15th arrondissement while in a vehicle. Later, at 6:50 AM, six more individuals were arrested in Villecresnes (Val-de-Marne) by the Melun anti-crime brigade, found inside one of the stolen cars. Finally, at 3:10 PM, two additional individuals were detained in Bagnolet (Seine-Saint-Denis) near several stolen Ferrari, Porsche, and BMW vehicles that had been partially dismantled, as confirmed by the Paris public prosecutor’s office to TF1-LCI.
Over 50 Accomplices Suspected in Coordinated Attack
Investigators at the concierge service determined that the perpetrators forced entry into the parking area, took vehicles with accessible keys, and attempted to force open a safe. “Video surveillance revealed that more than 50 people were involved between 0:20 AM and 3:30 AM. After an initial wave of eight clearly prepared intruders, six more waves followed into the parking lot,” stated the Paris public prosecutor’s office, confirming information from Le Figaro.
The total value of the 27 stolen luxury vehicles, which included Porsches and Maseratis, is estimated at nearly 2 million euros. Following extensive searches, 21 of the stolen cars have been recovered, some of which were found damaged or partially burned. These vehicles were discovered in various locations, including the Parisian ring road, the Val-de-Marne, other Île-de-France departments, and as far as Nantes and Vénissieux, according to the public prosecutor’s office.
Ongoing Investigation and Recoveries
The investigation, opened for “organized gang theft,” is ongoing and has been entrusted to the anti-gang repression brigade. Authorities continue to search for the remaining stolen vehicles and any other individuals involved in the elaborate heist.
This incident highlights a growing concern regarding organized crime targeting high-value assets in urban centers. The swift response and subsequent arrests demonstrate the commitment of Parisian law enforcement to combating such sophisticated criminal activities.
The recovered vehicles are currently undergoing forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation to gather further evidence and identify additional suspects. The police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
The concierge service, a facility that stores luxury vehicles for their owners, is cooperating fully with the authorities. The incident has raised questions about security protocols for such high-value assets, prompting a review of existing measures to prevent future occurrences.
The indictment of the four individuals marks a significant step in the case, but the full scope of the criminal network and the ultimate fate of all stolen vehicles remain subjects of active investigation.
