Saint-Jean-des-Vignes, May 4, 2026 – The General Assembly of Gîtes de France Rhône Métropole de Lyon took place on April 23rd at the Fossilea geological museum in Saint-Jean-des-Vignes. The event served as a crucial moment to review the past year’s achievements and to reiterate the core strengths of the association: its members’ commitment, the quality of its support, and the adaptability of its teams to evolving client expectations.

Positive 2025 Review for Gîtes de France Rhône Métropole de Lyon

Olivier Tillet, President of Gîtes de France Rhône Métropole de Lyon, presented a positive assessment of the past year. He highlighted the resilience of the association’s model and the collective dedication of its members. In a transforming tourism sector, the network has successfully adapted to new practices, notably with a significant increase in online sales, which now account for 86% of its offerings.

This evolution is complemented by concrete innovations that facilitate bookings while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, as evidenced by a very limited number of complaints. The president also emphasized “the strength of the Gîtes de France network,” built on proximity, personalized support, and a constant demand for quality.

50 Years of Gîtes de France in the Rhône Region

The individualized support for property owners, which has been further strengthened, represents a major asset for the development and sustainability of the offerings in the region. Strong thanks were extended to all owners for their commitment and the quality of their hospitality, as well as to the salaried teams for their professionalism.

Olivier Tillet also acknowledged the support of elected officials and partners, whose involvement significantly contributes to the influence of rural tourism in the area. Finally, future prospects for the coming years were discussed, with a commitment to continue supporting members, enhancing the network’s visibility, and promoting authentic, responsible, and locally-rooted tourism.

General Assembly at Fossilea Museum

The choice to hold the General Assembly of Gîtes de France Rhône Métropole de Lyon at the Fossilea geological museum was strategic. It provided an opportunity to introduce members and other attendees to this site, which reopened for its new season on March 3rd. Following the meeting, a guided tour of the museum was organized, an experience particularly appreciated by the numerous accommodation providers from the Beaujolais region. The museum serves as the gateway to the Beaujolais Geopark, offering “a unique experience of curiosity and discovery at the heart of the Beaujolais geo-heritage.”

Future Outlook and Commitment to Authentic Tourism

The association plans to continue its focus on supporting members, increasing network visibility, and promoting authentic, responsible, and locally-rooted tourism. This approach aligns with the growing demand for unique and sustainable travel experiences.

The meeting underscored the importance of adapting to market changes while preserving the fundamental values of Gîtes de France, which have contributed to its success for five decades in the Rhône region.
