Paris, August 19 – Three stations on Paris Metro Line 13 will be temporarily closed for modernization work this autumn. The closures, affecting Porte de Saint-Ouen, Porte de Clichy, and Mairie de Saint-Ouen, are scheduled between September 24 and November 29, 2026. These disruptions are part of a larger project to prepare the line for new MF19 trains and eventual full automation by 2035.

Line 13 Undergoing Major Modernization

The Line 13 metro, one of the busiest in Île-de-France, is entering a new phase of significant modernization work. These temporary station closures are integral to a comprehensive program aimed at enhancing the line’s infrastructure. The primary goals are to facilitate the introduction of the new, more modern and comfortable MF19 trains and to pave the way for the line’s complete automation, anticipated by 2035.

Three stations in the northern part of Paris will be impacted by these successive closures: Porte de Saint-Ouen, Porte de Clichy, and Mairie de Saint-Ouen. Each station will be closed for several consecutive days, with interruptions scheduled from September 24 to November 29, 2026. Trains will not stop at these stations during the specified periods.

RATP has proactively addressed potential disruptions by planning to reinforce existing bus lines. This measure aims to ensure that regular commuters using these stations can continue their journeys with minimal inconvenience. Passengers are advised to plan their trips in advance and consult traffic information before traveling.

Detailed Closure Schedule for Each Station

The closures have been scheduled successively to minimize the overall impact on the network. The RATP has announced the following detailed calendar for each of the three affected stations:

  • Porte de Saint-Ouen Station: Closed all day from September 24 to September 27, 2026, inclusive. Bus lines 21, 54, 137, 237, and 274 will have increased service.
  • Porte de Clichy Station: Closed all day from October 29 to November 1, 2026, inclusive. Bus line 54 will have increased service.
  • Mairie de Saint-Ouen Station: Closed all day from November 26 to November 29, 2026, inclusive. Bus lines 21, 54, 137, 237, and 274 will have increased service.

In addition to these specific station closures, it is important to note that Line 13 will also be entirely closed on certain Sundays until December 13, 2026. Travelers who regularly use this line in northern Paris are strongly encouraged to closely monitor the RATP’s announced disruption schedule to adjust their travel plans accordingly.

These works are part of a profound transformation of the line, with the new MF19 train sets expected to be in service by 2027. This new generation rolling stock is designed to provide users with greater comfort and safety on a daily basis, before the line eventually transitions to a fully automated mode.
