Givors, May 27, 2026 – Discount retail chain Noz has inaugurated its first store in the Rhône department, located in Givors, near Lyon. The grand opening on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, drew an impressive crowd, with the company reporting that 1,200 customers visited the new outlet on its first day of business.

Noz Expands Presence with Second Largest Store in France

The new Noz store, situated in the Givors 2 Vallées commercial zone south of Lyon, is the company’s 357th point of sale. Spanning a vast 2,526 square meters, it is now the second-largest Noz store in France, surpassed only by the Brétigny store in Essonne. This significant expansion marks a strategic move for Noz to strengthen its market presence in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

A Wide Range of Discounted Products

The Givors store offers an extensive array of discounted unsold goods, characteristic of the Noz brand. Shoppers can find a diverse selection of products, including branded textiles, frozen foods, household items, leisure goods, general merchandise, food products, and hygiene and maintenance items. This “XXL” format allows for a broader and deeper inventory, catering to a wide range of customer needs and preferences.

Over 1,200 Customers on Opening Day

The opening day saw a substantial turnout, with approximately 1,200 customers flocking to the store. The peak attendance was recorded around noon, indicating strong local interest and demand for discounted goods. Until now, residents of Rhône and the Lyon metropolitan area had to travel to neighboring departments like Tignieu-Jameyzieu, Meximieux, Ambérieu-en-Bugey, or Saint-Étienne to access Noz stores.

Operating Hours and Future Expansion Plans

The new Noz store in Givors will be open daily from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, with the exception of Sundays. This accessibility aims to provide convenience for shoppers throughout the week. Furthermore, this is not the only planned expansion for Noz in the Rhône department. The company has announced plans to open a second store in Saint-Priest later this summer, further solidifying its presence in the region and offering more shopping options to local communities.

Impact on Local Retail Landscape

The arrival of such a large discount retailer is expected to have a notable impact on the local retail landscape in Givors and the surrounding areas. By offering a wide variety of products at reduced prices, Noz caters to budget-conscious consumers and provides an alternative shopping experience. This expansion could also create new employment opportunities in the region, contributing to the local economy.

The strategic location in the Givors 2 Vallées commercial zone, a well-established retail hub, further enhances the store’s potential to attract a significant customer base from Givors, Lyon, and other nearby towns. The success of the opening day suggests a positive reception from the community, indicating a strong start for Noz’s venture into the Rhône department.
