Paris Design Week: Two Free Exhibitions at the Historical Library of the City of Paris
From September 9 to September 18, 2026, the Historical Library of the City of Paris (BHVP) invites the public to discover two free exhibitions as part of Paris Design Week. These events, organized by an institutional body, offer a plural program exploring the relationship with material, living, and savoir-faire.
Exhibition Details:
1. ‘Service Compris’ by the ppdesigner collective
- What it is: A unique open-air café concept, bringing together about forty designers.
- Theme: The Parisian café as a space for life and encounter.
- Concept: Each element – chair, table, crockery, lamp – will form a heterogeneous ensemble, showcasing diverse design practices.
- Activities: Readings and activations will be organized throughout the exhibition, making the space a lively and interactive environment.
- Collective: Founded in 2025, the ppdesigner collective comprises seven designers.
2. ‘Bois Français & Design 2026’ Competition Exhibition by Fibois
- What it is: An exhibition highlighting a new generation of designers committed to promoting local wood.
- Selection: More than twenty projects were selected from 80 applications received for the Bois Français & Design 2026 competition.
- Location: The exhibition will take over the courtyard and other spaces of the library.
- Focus: It will demonstrate the diversity of approaches, including formal innovation, responsible use of resources, and reflection on production methods.
- Organizer: This competition is led by the Fibois sector.
