The closure, scheduled from July 31 to August 17, 2026, inclusive, will render eight stations on this branch inaccessible. This follows a 20-day disruption in July, when the line was closed between Châtillon – Montrouge and Malakoff – Rue Étienne Dolet. The current closure targets a more heavily trafficked portion of the line, even during the summer months when university activities are reduced.
According to an official announcement from the RATP (Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens) via the Ligne 13 Twitter account, the extensive works are part of ongoing modernization efforts. The goal is to prepare the line for the integration of future metro trains and improve overall service quality.
