Paris Plages Returns: Beaches, Deckchairs, and Pedalos from July 4 to August 30, 2026
Paris, May 29, 2026 – With a spring heatwave already upon us, the announcement of the return of Paris Plages comes at an opportune moment. From July 4 to August 30, 2026, Paris Plages, an initiative launched a quarter-century ago in 2002, will once again transform the city with its bungalows, deckchairs, and free swimming areas across three sites: the Parc Rives de Seine, the Bassin de la Villette, and the Canal Saint-Martin.
The Parc Rives de Seine will stretch for 7 kilometers along both banks of the river, from the Pont d’Iéna to the Pont des Arts on the left bank, and from the Pont Neuf to the Port de l’Arsenal on the right bank. This route is expected to include the swimming site at Pont Louis-Philippe, which is intended to replace the Bras Marie site when the Seine opens for swimmers this summer.
Activities and Locations
Visitors will also be able to take a dip in the cleaned waters of the Bassin de la Villette and the Canal Saint-Martin. For those who prefer to stay above water, kayaks and pedalos will be available for rent. Misters, a perennial favorite, will return as the number one attraction for children, who will also enjoy a host of activities, including a comic book library in partnership with publisher Delcourt at La Villette.
