Herblay-sur-Seine, September 7, 2026 – The highly anticipated opening of the first Tang Frères supermarket in the Val-d’Oise department took place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in Herblay-sur-Seine. Located in the Patte d’Oie commercial zone, the new store spans over 1,000 square meters and offers an extensive range of over 11,000 products, catering to Asian, African, Caribbean, and South American cuisines.

Hundreds of Customers Welcomed on Opening Day

Even before the official opening at 9 AM, hundreds of customers gathered outside the new Tang Frères store, eager to explore its diverse offerings. The overwhelming turnout necessitated crowd control measures to ensure a smooth and calm shopping experience inside the supermarket.

This opening marks a significant expansion for Tang Frères, a brand that began its journey fifty years ago in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. With this new establishment, residents of the north-western Île-de-France region no longer need to travel to Paris or Lognes to access a wide variety of specialized ingredients, including sauces, noodles, rice, fresh produce, frozen goods, and unique condiments not typically found in conventional supermarkets.

A Culinary Journey Across Continents

The Herblay-sur-Seine store boasts a retail space exceeding 1,000 square meters, further extended to 1,300 square meters with an adjacent catering area. The product selection is remarkably broad, encompassing dedicated ranges for Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese cuisines, alongside a growing assortment of West African, Caribbean, and South American products. This diverse inventory reflects Tang Frères’ commitment to meeting the evolving culinary needs of its multicultural customer base.

Economic Boost and Future Expansion

The establishment of this tenth Tang Frères store, and its first in the north-western Île-de-France, has created approximately fifty jobs, with around twenty positions filled by residents of Herblay-sur-Seine. The mayor of Herblay-sur-Seine expressed enthusiasm for the new store, highlighting its positive impact on the more than 300 businesses operating within the Patte d’Oie commercial zone.

Further enhancing the customer experience, a Tang Gourmet restaurant is scheduled to open next to the supermarket in October 2026. This new addition will offer rotisserie items and prepared Asian dishes for on-site consumption, transforming a shopping trip into a complete culinary outing.

Tang Frères’ expansion plans extend beyond Herblay-sur-Seine, with another store anticipated to open in Colombes, Hauts-de-Seine, in the first quarter of 2027. This continuous growth underscores the increasing demand for specialized grocery stores in the greater Paris area, reflecting consumers’ appreciation for a wide selection of authentic and diverse culinary products.
