According to the Museums of the City of Paris, the Catacombs will unveil a completely new scenography. The famous walls of bones will be illuminated by sophisticated lighting effects, highlighting previously unseen details and creating a more dramatic atmosphere. This visual enhancement is complemented by an innovative audio guide.
“An immersive, high-quality audio headset will enrich the visit, guiding visitors through automatic sound sequences that trace the history of the site, from the creation of the quarries to the establishment of the ossuary. It’s a true sensory journey beneath the city,” stated a representative from the Museums of the City of Paris.
This new approach promises to transform the traditional tour into a deeply engaging historical and sensory exploration, allowing visitors to connect more intimately with the unique history of this underground burial site.

Upon reopening, the galleries will be accessible via the Denfert-Rochereau station. The entrance fee for tickets is set to start from 15 euros.
