Le Modulo Restaurant in Lyon to Launch New Generation Barge This June
Lyon, April 14 – Le Modulo, a popular restaurant located on a barge on Quai du Général Sarrail in Lyon’s 6th arrondissement, is set to undergo a significant transformation. Starting this June, the establishment will replace its current vessel with a brand-new, state-of-the-art barge, offering an enhanced dining and event experience for both locals and tourists.
The new barge, which has been three years in the making, arrived at the Port Edouard Herriot in Lyon on February 9. Since its arrival, extensive fitting-out work has been underway to prepare the vessel for its grand opening.
Spacious Design and Enhanced Amenities
Measuring an impressive 40 meters in length, the new Le Modulo barge boasts a total area of 1,080 square meters, spread across three distinct levels. This expansive design will allow for a significantly increased capacity, with seating for up to 400 guests.
The multi-level layout includes a meeting room in the basement, a ground floor featuring a terrace, and a rooftop area, providing diverse settings for various occasions. In addition to its dining facilities, the new barge will be equipped with a comprehensive sound system, enabling the hosting of events and festive evenings.
Culinary Excellence and Local Sourcing
Upon its opening, the restaurant will employ a team of 20 chefs, ensuring continuous service from morning to evening, seven days a week. The team at Le Modulo emphasizes a commitment to a generous culinary experience, utilizing fresh, seasonal produce and prioritizing local sourcing.
In a statement released on Monday, April 13, the Le Modulo team expressed their ambition: “The aim is to create a place where everyone – whether a long-time Lyonnais resident or a passing visitor – feels at home, supported by generous cuisine and attentive service.”
Anticipated Opening in Early June
The exact opening date for the new generation Le Modulo has not yet been announced, as it is contingent on the successful completion of the ongoing construction and fitting-out work. However, the restaurant is expected to open its doors to the public in early June.
This development marks an exciting new chapter for Le Modulo, promising a fresh and expansive venue that will undoubtedly become a significant addition to Lyon’s vibrant gastronomic and cultural scene.
