Lyon, August 8th – Two men sustained injuries in separate knife attacks on Friday evening, August 7th, in Lyon. The first incident took place near the Confluence shopping center, while the second occurred close to Perrache train station. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding both assaults.

First Attack Near Confluence Shopping Center

The initial aggression, involving a knife, happened in the late afternoon on Friday, in the immediate vicinity of the Confluence shopping center, located in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon. According to local reports, an altercation escalated between a young man and two other individuals. The dispute resulted in the victim receiving a knife wound to the cheek before the two assailants fled the scene.

The incident occurred around 5:30 PM, specifically on the edge of the Confluence marina. Emergency services, including firefighters, promptly attended to the victim. His condition was not deemed life-threatening. Law enforcement quickly established a perimeter in the area and initiated a search for the two suspects involved in the attack.

Second Incident Near Perrache Train Station

Less than two hours later, a second incident prompted emergency responders to the same arrondissement. Around 7:00 PM, firefighters were dispatched to Cours Charlemagne, near Place des Archives and Perrache train station, to assist a man who had sustained a neck injury.

Reports indicate that the man, described as heavily intoxicated, had a wound to his neck. He reportedly informed police that he had no recollection of what had happened or how he came to be at the location. The precise circumstances of this injury remained unclear as of Friday evening, and information regarding his health status was not immediately available.

Ongoing Investigations and Lack of Connection

At this stage of the investigation, there is no evidence to suggest a link between these two separate incidents, despite their proximity in both location and time. Authorities are continuing their investigations to identify the perpetrators and to determine the exact sequence of events in both cases.

These incidents add to a series of miscellaneous events reported in the region. Recent news includes a pedestrian seriously injured after a pile-up in Lyon, eight cars destroyed by a fire in Clermont-Ferrand, and a new drowning incident at Miribel Jonage park, among others.
