Lyon, France – Olympique Lyonnais has officially announced the signing of Mohammed Ouédraogo, a 23-year-old Burkinabe international, from Austrian club SCR Altach. The deal, finalized on Friday, July 3, is valued at €2.2 million, with potential bonuses of up to €0.6 million and a 10% sell-on clause for any future capital gain, according to a club statement.

Defensive Reinforcement for Lyon

Ouédraogo, a left-back, has signed a five-year contract with Olympique Lyonnais. He was developed at the Burkinabe club SC Majestic and has earned nine caps for his national team. His move to Lyon comes after a promising season in the Austrian first division with SCR Altach, where he played 35 matches, scoring four goals and providing three assists. Lyon describes Ouédraogo as a defender who is “solid in duels and capable of contributing offensively.” This acquisition marks the fourth summer signing for Olympique Lyonnais, which finished 4th in the last Ligue 1 season and qualified for the 3rd preliminary round of the Champions League, scheduled for early August. Other new recruits include Kaïl Boudache (Nice), Mads Bidstrup (RB Salzburg), and Julien Duranville (Borussia Dortmund).
